Organic Quinoa Flour
Description: This flour has been prepared from milling organic Bolivian white quinoa seed. Quinoa is an annual herb not technically classified as grain; the seeds are shaped like rounded discs. The husk contains a bitter substance known as “saponin”, which must be removed or washed off before consumption.
Ingredients: Whole quinoa grain.
Uses: Quinoa flour can be used for pancakes, breads, muffins, and other baked goods. At least 25% gluten-containing flour (or a binder such as xanthan or guar gum) must be added in order to bake leavened bread.
Storage: Product should be stored in a clean, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 60˚F and 60% relative humidity. Optimum shelf life is 8-10 months under correct storage conditions.
